Notation Conventions
This manual uses the following notation conventions throughout.
This stylemarks file paths, extensions, code identifiers, enumeration values, and shortcut keys.- Bold text marks a label that actually appears in the UI. PAIO's UI strings are in English, so this manual quotes them verbatim instead of translating them. For example: Add ECU, Save All, New Project....
- Labels are written the way the UI paints them. The menu bar, section headers, panel titles and the field labels of side panels appear in upper case (PROJECT, DESIGN, SYSTEM, NAME); menu items, rows, buttons and dialog fields keep their own case (New Project..., System, Create, Location).
- Menu paths are joined with
▸. For example:PROJECT ▸ Open Project.... - Shortcuts follow Windows and Linux conventions. On macOS, read
CtrlasCmd. - A blockquote (>) marks a fact that needs your attention. It is used in particular for a label whose behavior differs from what it says and for an item that is present in the UI but does not work.
- Error messages are quoted exactly as the application prints them in English.
